The ten-round men's 76.2kg fight in Krasnogorsk, near Moscow, ended with Abdugofurov winning by decision of the judges. Vladimir Khrunov, the promoter of the undeniably spectacular boxing evening, promised on REN TV that there would definitely be a rematch.
Remember, Russian boxer Fedor Chudinov lost to Azizbek Abdugofurov from Uzbekistan. The ten-round men's 76.2kg fight in Krasnogorsk, near Moscow, ended with Abdugofurov winning by decision of the judges.
The 34-year-old Chudinov's record now includes 25 wins (17 by knockout), three defeats and one draw. The Russian owned the World Boxing Association (WBA Gold) title and was second in the WBA rating, but was deprived of his position due to the organisation's sanctions imposed because of the events in the Ukraine. Chudinov held the WBA champion title in 2015-2016, having defended it once.
30-year-old Abdugofurov had the 14th win (the 5th by knockout) with one defeat. In 2018, he defeated Fedor Chudinov's brother Dmitry Chudinov and won the World Boxing Council (WBC) silver title, which he lost in March last year after a loss to Russian Pavel Silyagin by decision of the judges. Abdugofurov has held most of his fights in his professional career in Singapore and Malaysia, where he currently resides.
